TEEN INTERVENE

Program is designed to provide education, support and guidance for teens that have experienced mild to moderate substance use.  Program also offers parents and guardians the opportunity to learn healthy communication skills and the importance of establishing family rules surrounding substance use.

PEACEFUL ALTERNATIVES TO TOUGH SITUATIONS (PATTS)

A six-week education series for teens and parents experiencing difficulties because of their inability to manage their anger.
 

When:  Thursday, 5/17/18 - 6/21/18 

Where:  CARE of Southeastern Michigan, 31900 Utica Road, Fraser, MI  48026

Time:  6:00 - 8:00 pm

Cost:  $5.00 per youth (free workbook provided at 1st class)

Ages:  9-11, 12-14 & 15-18 Years Parent component runs at the same time.

  • More than 60% of teens say prescription pain relievers are easy to get from the medicine cabinet at home, the homes of relatives, or from friends.
  • Youth who abuse prescription medications are also more likley to report earlier use of other druges, particularly alcohol and marijuana.

Who can attend?  Camp Kesem serves children who have lost a parent to cancer, have a parent undergoing cancer treatment, or whose parent is a cancer survivor.
