Our CPC NTHS hosted their annual American Red Cross blood drive, Friday January 26th. In the short time they were in our building, they were able to complete 25 successful donations, with 19 first time donors.
The blood that they collected will help 75 Hospital patients! (This is the IMPORTANT PART) 75 LIVES SAVED (since every blood donor can save 3 lives)!
These students and staff really made a huge difference in the lives of those in need. Thank you for being a HERO to the community! Those units were so desperately needed!
Thank you for preventing dangerous blood shortages! Thank you for all of your hard work on this life saving event!!!
Student of the Month
Visual Imaging & Print Tech – Mrs. Nunez
Cousino High School
We are extremely proud to announce Brandon Barton as our school building’s February “Student of the Month”. While Brandon wasn’t very happy at first being in the Visual Imaging & Print Tech (VIPT) program, and not the Computer Information Systems program that he wanted, he has become one of Mrs. Nunez’s best students in class. He has learned that creating characters, backgrounds and motion are all part of game design skills. The skills that he’s learning in VIPT program will also help to make him a better future game designer.
Brandon is a very hard working student, is always completing tasks above and beyond what is expected. While his strong suit is Adobe Illustrator, he is working on improving his Photoshop skills. Brandon would like to also learn about Motion Graphics and is willing to try this next semester.
Brandon post-secondary/career plans are a variety of different ideas. He is interested in Motion, Interactive and Animation Graphics or would like to learn about Auto Mechanics. Brandon is a junior this year and would like to come back to CPC next year.
Mrs. Nunez goes on the say that she’s very proud of Brandon for coming into her class (one which he did not sign up for) and making the best of it and more. She believes that he will be an asset to her class in designing some awesome future projects.
Creating Dynamic Futures!
Career Prep Center (CPC) is a Career & Technical Education (CTE) building, within Warren Consolidated Schools (WCS). We offer fifteen-plus high skill, high wage, high demand CTE programs within our CPC building, along with a number of additional programs housed in the three WCS traditional high schools.
While we service a small number of students from the neighboring districts, the vast majority of our students are coming to us from within our WCS district: Sterling Heights, Cousino, Warren Mott, and Community High Schools.
We are extremely proud of our students and their accomplishments throughout the year. We are also proud to service our community, parents, industry partners and other stakeholders throughout our district and extended area.
