 Freshman student meets NASA Astronaut Col. R. Shane Kimbrough 

 Janellyn Woo a  freshman here at MMSTC went to the NASA presentation offered  at Wayne State University to listen to Col. R. Kimbrough " I learned a lot about his experience in space and how he pursued his passion in space and engineering. He's a very down to earth person, and I had a pleasure meeting him."😊

Col. Kimbrough is a retired U.S. Army officer and a NASA astronaut. After serving as a pilot during Operation Desert Storm, he joined the NASA team at the Johnson Space Center in September 2000. He was selected as an astronaut candidate by NASA in 2004 and completed astronaut candidate training in 2006. During his second mission, a 6-month mission on the ISS, he served as the Expedition Commander and returned to Earth in April 2017. Col. Kimbrough has logged 189 days in space and has performed 6 spacewalks.
