Frequently Asked Questions

About classes:

We are excited to announce that classes have resumed as of Monday 4-13. We are currently offering remote instruction for students during their usually scheduled meeting times (morning for Level 1, afternoon for levels 2-4). We are using the program Microsoft Teams to conduct class. Teams is free and allows us to video conference, text chat as well as store and collaborate on documents. Teams is private and each student was invited to join via their school email. It can be accessed via URL or Desktop App or Phone App. In addition we are occasionally using Zoom by invite as well—especially for dance class. We are taking precautions such as password protected rooms as well as using the waiting room function to ensure only students from the program are admitted: please be sure to use your full name, or at least your first name and last initial so we can easily admit you.

If your son or daughter has not yet met us for class and does not know their school email, please have them contact Nick Osenberg (nosenberg@wcskids.net). We know this first week will present many challenges and opportunities for improvement, but we’d like to have everyone in attendance at least once by the end of the week so we can check in. If you have a major concern, the best way to contact us is still via our school emails which are posted under the Faculty page.

About Annie Jr. and Sister Act:
Due to the cancellation of the school year we will no longer be performing either show. We hope those of you that have purchased tickets will consider just donating that cost to WCSPA.  Unfortunately we lost a considerable amount of revenue due to not having public performances of our two largest shows of the year.  We are currently working with the district on a process for refunding anyone that wants one though.  Once the district has given us a clear process, we will let you know.

About WCSPA Clothing ordered, but not received:
The company that was making out WCSPA clothing is not considered an ‘essential’ business and remains closed.  Once they return to business we will find out how best to deliver orders that would have been sent to school for distribution.

In regards to items still left in lockers:
We provided time for students to their WCSPA lockers on our last school day, but realize at that point no one imagined they wouldn’t be returning before the school year ended. We empathize completely: teachers are not being allowed to pack up their classrooms or personal effects and no students are being admitted into the building. District administration is aware of this issue and is working diligently to come up with the safest solution. Once there is a clear plan for retrieving items we will let you know.

End of Year Events:
Traditionally we have an end of the year banquet as well as our annual Senior Showcase. We are exploring ways to possibly host these events digitally. There is of course no way to do these events in person or in the ways we have in past years given the current social distancing guidelines. We are also cancelling our Cedar Point trip that was to happen the week after school ended.

We realize that may of the things that we looked forward to experiencing together simply can’t happen in the way we expected, but we will continue to search for new opportunities and ways to engage students in exciting ways. Adversity often leads to new invention and transformation and this situation will be no different. We will need the support of our students and families as we meet this moment.

We appreciate your patience during this unprecedented time as we all try to adapt to our “new normal”. Feel free to reach out to us if you have additional questions or concerns.
